Super Smash Bros. Brawl Clay Character Magnet Set: (Rough price estimate is $250 for 41 magnets since cheapest individual magnet is 7 dollars)
This took me TWO MONTHS to complete (Mid Jan 09 to Mar 2nd 09). Most of it was on again off again...and average time making each ranged from 1.5 hrs to 5+ hrs depending on difficulty. Some of them I was also able to make molds of! And sorry about the photo quality since I had to use my webcam (camera's lens is outta focused and needs repairs!) Oh and all clay figures are made from a combination of Sculpey 3 Colored clay, Sculpey Rubber Colored Clay, Permanent Markers, Paint, Paperclips, Magnets, Plastics, and Super Glue. The ORDER I made these clay magnets: Super Maro, Weegee, Kirby, Ness, Lucas, Popo, Nana, Peach, Zero Suit Samus, Sonic, Yoshi, Meta Knight, Lucario, Jigglypuff, Twilight Princess Link, King Dedede, Samus, Pikachu, Mr. Game & Watch, Pokemon Trainer, Captain Falcon, Marth, Diddy Kong, Wario, Donkey Kong, Ike, Fox McCloud, Olimar, Pit, R.O.B, Twilight Princess Zelda, Bowser, Falco Lombardi, Twilight Princess Sheik, Wolf ODonnell, Snake, Ganondorf, Squirtle, Ivysaur, Charizard, Toon Link Individual Comments Super Mario Bros. Set: Mario: Very easy to make. The M is from a permanent marker. Princess Peach: She's so Suh-weet! I did a great job with the permanent marker and her eyebrows. I made a mold of it too. Yoshi: Another easy figure. I made a mold of it too. Weegee: I thought it be funnier to make Luigi in his "internet joke/gag" form of Weegee! Bowser: The Koopa King looks great imo! Wario: Definitely the hardest one overall since his mouth was tricky (ergo I closed his mouth). His mustache is made from painted magnetic strips otherwise they would be too fragile and rubber clay was used for his red sashes. The Legend of Zelda Set: Twilight Princess Link: I think his mouth is a tad low and his hair got painted "blonder" (originally too dark yellow). Twilight Princess Zelda: OMG I LOVE the way she turned out! Twilight Princess Sheik: Ok seriously...getting a reference pic of her was bloody difficult! >_> But I like how, due to the ref pic I used, her hair flips UP on the left side, which is pretty cool! Twilight Princess Ganondorf: I DREADED making this (ergo why it was pretty much last). Despite multiple firing, the head still doesn't look quite right...and his head decorations were a pain to make and paint gold!Still looks badass tho! Toon Link: Very easy with a bit of paint job since I made a face mold of the Wind Waker/Phantom Hourglass/Four Swords/Toon Link I made earlier. Fire Emblem Set: Ike: He looks sooo cool! I almost forgot his sash tho...(lolz) Marth: I tried REALLY hard to not make him look feminine...just wasn't gonna happen! Donkey Kong Set: Donkey Kong: I had a good ref pic so it turned out really well. Diddy Kong: I'm glad I curled his hat's rim upwards so I didn't have to do the Nintendo Logo! Pokemon Set: Pokemon Trainer: His face looks a odd...probably cuz I made his mouth too low. Boring hair too. Pikachu: I was REALLY happy I finally made a Pikachu and it turned out soooo well! I made a mold of it too, which I gave one to Veronica Taylor during the NY Comic Con 09! Ivysaur: Even tho it's not as popular, I really like how it turned out! I made a mold of it too. Squirtle: The eyes were hard to paint on but it's so cute! I made a mold of it too. Charizard: I am SO freakin' proud of this one! I made a mold of it too. Lucario: His face is REALLY awkward to get JUST right, so I'm sorta satisfied with how it turned out... Jigglypuff: Nice and simple since I didn't add any eyes! XD Star Fox Adventures Set: Fox McCloud: His head gear is made of a paperclip and a green permanent marker'd plastic rectangle. Falco Lombardi: He also has a paperclip headset. I made a mold of it too (lol that headset totally got stuck too...lolz) Wolf O'Donnell: His mohawk isn't shown well in this pic... Ice Climbers Set: Popo and Nana: The two actually differ not only in hair, but also in number/size of "petals" and cheek color. Kirby DreamLand Set: Kirby: Hiiiiiii! Easy to make. I made a mold of it too. Meta Knight: Nice silver and gold paint finish. King Dedede: I think his beak could be better...and I almost forgot the white pom pom! Earthbound Set: Ness: Another easy one to make. Lucas: His mouth just TOTALLY completed his character! Old Skool Set: Captain Falcon: I'm impressed with how I made him and his painted golden eagle is a great touch! Show me your moves! hahaha and I made a mold of it too. Pit: I purposely made his eyes bigger... Mr. Game & Watch: Simple with a black coat of paint. The silver outline was also a nice touch. R.O.B / Robot Operating Buddy: This has the strongest magnet attached... Olimar: It was tricky but I found a clear semi circle for his helmet. His antenna is a paperclip and he was easy to make. Metriod Set: Samus Aran: This was surprisingly simple with paperclip tubes. She got some gloss on her helmet too. Zero Suit Samus: She looks damn smexy! The WTF R U DOIN' IN THIS GAME?!? set: Sonic the Hedgehog: Always a easy thing for me! 8) Metal Gear Solid Snake: Ah I did a fantastic job on this one! His beard is permanent marker'd and his gruffness looks epic. Oddly his sash burned... o.O SO yeah ENJOY !!! Obviously all characters are respective/copyrighted of Nintendo, Sego, Konami, etc. ... And JUST FOR FUN, If it this was one of those Personality/Who are you type things u get tagged on Facebook then: Mario: The Versatile One Peach: The Sweetheart Yoshi: The Teachers Pet Weegee: The Weirdo Bowser: The Persistent Type Wario: The Crude One Link: The Brave One Zelda: The Princess Sheik: The Ninja Wannabe Ganondorf: The Evil One Toon Link: The Emotional One Ike: The Silent Type Marth: The Metrosexual Donkey Kong: The One That's a Little Slow Diddy Kong: The Wacky One Pokemon Trainer: The Control Freak Pikachu: The Popular One Ivysaur: The Unpopular One Squirtle: The Cute One Charizard: The Rebel Lucario: The One Who Understands Jigglypuff: The Drama Queen Fox McCloud: The Natural Leader Falco Lombardi: The Jerkwad Wolf ODonnell: The Rival Popo: The One Who Drags You Along Nana: The Follower Kirby: The One Who Eats Everything MetaKnight: The Enigmatic One King Dedede: The One That Wont Shut Up Ness: The Good Friend Lucas: The Chicken Wuss Captain Falcon: The Athletic One Pit: The Little Angel Mr. Game & Watch: The Oddball R.O.B: The Techie Olimar: The One Who's a Little Out of Place Suit Samus: The Fashionista Zero Suit: The Hottie Sonic: The Impatient One Snake: The Badass And... -- O_O *bows low*
These all came out amazing!! I would buy the whole set and cover my fridge with them if I could, haha. I'm having a hard time picking my favorite. It's between Cap'n Falcon, Samus, and Olimar. <3 I really like Olimar; the plastic helmet is a nice touch. Does this mean I'm Lucas..? ("Chicken wuss" XD) -- "Glitter is the herpes of craft supplies." -Demetri Martin I has a Deku Nut and I'm not afraid to use it! hahaha it's always nice to get a "I'd buy them if I could" line!
Captain Falcon is cloned so thats an easy sell...olimar is pretty easy so I didn't need to mold it. I may also mold Samus (Im guessing u mean Zero Suit) No ur just a GIANT chicken. I dont see any wussy-ness in u -- Clay Gurren Lagann, Zelda, Teen Titans, FF, KH, Haruhi, Bleach, Pokemon, Sonic, Mario, Megaman, NiGHTS, Powerpuff Girls, etc ~ Also do commissions! *Personally acquainted with Veronica Taylor (Ash Ketchum) and Svetlana Chmakova of Dramacon |
